My father was always obsessed with wolves. Always. It got to the point to where he considered buying random wolf paintings and pictures to hang up on his side of the wall.

The typical mysterious surrounding the feline. They are majestic creatures in such a way that any position that they are in causes a rush of art fanatics to give meaning to these poses.
The clouds loomed overhead, the atmosphere smelling of both humidity and grass. It had just rained in these beautiful mountains, and barely anyone noticed the evaporation among the horizon.
I have already shared the Graphic Pixel brochure seen in the Portfolio section of this website. So the situation for this poster is similar. I read the assignment, and my requirements were to list the pros and cons of the Articles of Confederation, a picture relating to the project, and tell the general public what it is they were.
Being right next to the Water Dragon drawing, I wanted to practice anatomy of the human body. But I am a self-taught artist so... Anatomy is not my strong suit. But the face of the drawing is! .
However, I decided to try and recreate a drawing I found on the internet. Was I intimidated... yes. Scared... yes... Why? Because this was going to go in my sketchbook. It may not sound like much but it is quite intimidating to create something new in a sketchbook. I was sitting in class one day and I clicked on the assignment we had to do for the day. Since it was an online dual enrollment civics class, we had a bit more liberty as to what we did during the period. So I took it as a chance to get ahead.
I read the instructions of the assignment and it was revealed that we would create a brochure or a comic of how a business would operate. We had to include the type of business that we were (partnership etc), if we had a labor union and whatnot, and how we would incorporate the idea of "Going Green." I was plenty excited! It was one of the few opportunities where I got to show off my designs! So I chose to include a business named Graphic Pixel where I could talk about how we make designs. Starting off as just a birthday poster for a friend, it transformed into a semi-realistic, semi-cartoon like dragon. However, it was not just any dragon, it was a water dragon.
While designing this for said close friend, I found some difficulties in creating a water-like vibe from the dragon itself. |
